An everyday guide to immunity that actually fits your routine

Immunity • 5 min read • By the Carevault pharmacy team

Immunity is not built in a weekend of megadoses. It is the sum of sleep, food, movement and a few well-chosen supplements, repeated daily.

Sleep first, supplements second

Seven to nine hours of sleep does more for immune resilience than any single pill. Short sleep weakens the antibody response after vaccination and raises winter cold risk — fix bedtime before buying bottles.

Where vitamin C and D earn their place

Vitamin C supports immune cell function and most adults get too little from food in winter. Vitamin D matters most from October to March, when sunlight cannot make enough. A daily capsule with breakfast covers both without fuss.

  • Take vitamin C with food to avoid stomach upset.
  • Take vitamin D with a meal containing some fat for absorption.
  • Stay hydrated — mucous membranes are a first line of defence.

The habits that multiply everything

Wash hands before meals, disinfect shared surfaces weekly, walk 20 minutes a day and keep bedrooms cool and dark. None of these cost anything; all of them compound.

When to talk to a pharmacist

If you catch every cold going around, take immune-suppressing medication, or are over 65, ask us before supplementing — doses and interactions are personal. Message us through the contact page.
